Last Tuesday / Curbsquirrels

The U-Turn

I recently saw both of these Dug Records bands play at a GMA showcase in Nashville, TN and was excited to see them both again in a more "fan oriented" environment.

Ohio’s Curbsquirrels opened the show and I have to say that the band really blew me away. They were really on target with their brand of musical pop punk on this particular night. The band played some new songs from their upcoming Dug Records full length as well as staples from their split EP with labelmates Last Tuesday. The crowd was totally into it and I bet the band could have played another hour and no one would have complained! This is a fairly impressive band live and surely one to watch closely.

Up next was Pennsylvania’s Last Tuesday. This band has undergone a lot of changes in the last year and it has enhanced their band a thousand fold. I caught them at last year’s Purple Door Arts and Music Festival and they were nowhere near this good! Last Tuesday brought the house down as they played each note like it was their last chance to take a stand for something they believed in. This is a simply unbelievable live band! The band is the prefect combination of fun, seriousness, and energy. I have seen hundreds of bands over the years and I truly believe that Last Tuesday is quite likely the best band I have ever seen live. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

When the dust settled, the crowd went home happy, excited, and rocked by a great night at The U-Turn. Be sure to check these bands out when they come to your town.
