 CHC Response Zone
The CHC’s Response Zone and Area of Forecast Responsibility

The CHC gathers information on tropical and post-tropical cyclones, predicts their evolution, and assesses their potential impact on Canadian territory. The CHC's Area of Forecast Responsibility lies along the Canada-United States border and extends into Canadian waters to 200 nautical miles. The CHC also makes presentations about hurricanes to schools, businesses, the media, and other governmental agencies and receives calls from the public for more information about hurricanes in Canada.
