The chapter represents the results of the All-Ukrainian census of the population’ 2001 concerning the number, distribution and structure of the population of Ukraine by sex, age, marital status, educational standard, nationality and native language with reference to regions, districts, towns (according to the administrative-territorial division on the date of the census execution).
   The comparison of the results of the census of the population’ 2001 and the data of the previous census’ 1989 will enable the understanding and analysis of the socio-economic changes in the society.
