Basil Brush is launching a pop career.

Not content with a new series, playing Dobbin in a Comic Relief Harry Potter spoof, and a regular spot on Blue Peter, Basil Brush hopes to seal his comeback with a number one single.

Owner's Entertainment Rights is continuing the push to increase Basil's profile by releasing a pop record, with an eye on the coveted Christmas number one.

William Hill, the bookmakers, are currently quoting Basil at odds of 50-1 - not that we condone gambling in any way whatsoever.
