In 2000, 2001 and 2002, ABUL [1] (Association Bordelaise des Utilisateurs de Linux) organised the Libre Software Meeting [2] in Bordeaux. This year organising commitee members have decided to devote their time to other free software project (Abuledu, ...) and will not organise the LSM 2003. Graoulug [3], Mirabellug [4], Mozenix [5] , LiLux [6], AEL [7] and APRIL [8] will organize in Metz this year the LSM. LSM organisation staff in Bordeaux support the project.

The LSM have already taken place in Bordeaux, at the Talence university campus, in July 2000, 2001, and 2002. These meetings were the opportunity to gather together elite representatives of the free software community in thematic conferences targetting laymen as well as power users.
