The general public session

Why this session?

From the 5th to the 9th july 2000, will take place at Bordeaux, France, the Libre Software Meeting (LSM) arranged by the ABUL, (Association Bordelaise des Utilisateurs de Linux et des Logiciels Libres, http://www.abul.org/). Among the different themas that will be tackled during this days, a general public session will take place on the campus of the university of Bordeaux I, in order to come here you can take a look at the maps available.

The libre software have the reputation to be hard to access, because they are most of time written by computer scientist for computer scientist, or some other geeks, for themselves. Nevertheless, with the recent media coverage about Linux, the libre software are more and more present, showing a philosophy and qualities, that interest a growing part of the population, which is not necessarily specialized.

The goal of this general public session is to let people, who are not necessarily experienced computer scientists, dive in the Libre world and discover what the libre software could bring to them professionally, or personally.
