The Mozilla project is an open source effort made possible thanks to volunteer contributions by close to 1,000 developers. But volunteers can't do everything: it takes staff and money to host our servers, run our build farm and coordinate the work done by volunteer contributors. In addition, the Mozilla Foundation employs some of the key developers working on some of the most important code. In sum, the lizard needs to be fed!

You can also make a donation from the Mozilla Store. This may be a good alternative if you prefer not to use Paypal. You can make a donation without purchasing any Mozilla merchandise if you'd like. If you make a donation through the Mozilla Store, you may also receive free CDs or t-shirts depending on the level of your contribution. The only downside to giving throught the Mozilla Store is that it's a slightly more expensive option for us.
Corporate Contributions Program

Tax Exempt Status
The Mozilla Foundation is a California non-profit corporation. We are in the process of obtaining our tax exempt status ("501(c)3 certification") from the IRS, but this process takes about 9 months to complete. In the mean time, the Open Source Applications Foundation has kindly agreed to serve as our fiscal sponsor. Donations via Paypal or by check will be passed on by OSAF to the Mozilla Foundation and will be fully tax deductible.
Checks made payable to the Mozilla Foundation directly may or may not be tax deductible. Please consult with your tax advisor.
Donations from Outside of the United States
We welcome donations from anywhere in the world and in any currency. Paypal accepts a number of international currencies. You may also send checks to us in non-USD currencies. Please consult with your tax advisor about whether your donation will be tax deductible to you.
