Ski for Women

Every Super Bowl Sunday, hundreds gather for a good cause. This year's Ski for Women at Kincaid Park is no different. The event, the largest women's ski event in North America, encourages women to do Nordic skiing while raising money for Abused Women's Aid in Crisis. Festival of fun

Alyeska Resort hosts Winterfest from Friday to Sunday, Jan. 30 to Feb. 1. Enjoy the mountain bike slalom, watch a figure skating demo and hit the snow for tubing, skiing and boarding. Oh, and there will be fireworks Friday night.

Whole-y smokes

The Alaska Whole Life Festival is set for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at the Anchorage Senior Center. Fill up on holistic lifestyle tips, from bodywork to aura readers to stones, herbs and more. Admission is $5.
