What is "NIE"?

(Published: October 8, 2002)
Newspapers in Education (NIE) is a program which provides newspapers to classrooms throughout Alaska. Newspaper study increases student awareness about the world in which they live and helps equip them to impact their communities as Alaska’s future leaders. Through the generous contributions of our corporate sponsors, the Newspapers in Education program is able to provide thousands of daily newspapers to students and educators across Alaska.

Order forms

(Published: January 16, 2004)
To sign up your classroom for daily newspaper delivery, fill out the NIE order form. We request that each school assign one contact person who will be responsible for collecting all order forms from teachers wishing to participate. The contact person will also be responsible for ensuring that all forms are filled out completely and legibly. It is important that we get a complete order form from each teacher who wishes to participate in the NIE program. The newspapers provided through the NIE program are to be used for classroom instruction. They are not for school administration or library use. Please be aware that the amount of NIE newspapers that you receive throughout the school year may vary slightly from month to month.
