"Reed Daily and the Case of the Missing Pottery"

Teachers! Help your students improve their reading skills and have fun at the same time by reading “Reed Daily and the Case of the Missing Pottery”. This is a children's story, suitable for grades 4 and up, that will run every Thursday in the Life section of the Anchorage Daily News starting on September 25th. This exciting mystery story will be printed in eight chapter installments.

Newspaper study increases student awareness about the world in which they live and helps equip them to impact their communities as Alaska’s future leaders. Curriculum units available

The Anchorage Daily News has an extensive library of curriculum units to help educators utilize newspapers in their classrooms. All units were developed by educational specialists and include several pages of lesson plans and reproducible activity sheets. After each description, you’ll note a letter indicating grade level appropriateness: P -- primary, I -- intermediate, M - middle school and H - high school. If you are interested in obtaining any of these units, please call the Newspapers in Education office at (907) 257-4437. We ask that you limit your requests to five units at a time.
