EDUCATION The Department of Comparative Literature at the University of California, Berkeley, seeks to appoint a Lecturer with principal responsibilities for writing pedagogy and the coordination of Graduate student Instructors who teach reading and composition. The position involves teaching professional pedagogy courses, as well as teaching and observing reading and composition courses. Candidates must have expertise in instruction in writing in the context of Comparative Literature. PH.D. required, preferably in Comparative Literature. Demonstrable experience of teaching reading and composition courses at the University level. Applicants should submit a letter of interest, complete C.V. and three letters of recommendation by May 15, 2003 to the Department of Comparative Literature, UC Berkeley, Berkeley, CA 94720-2580; att. Eric Naiman, Chair. This is a one-year appointment with possibility of renewal. Expected percentage of time is 67 in the fall and 73 in the spring with possibility of increase or decrease of percentages of time based on budgetary resources and instructional needs but the minimum percentage of time will not drop below 50%.
