Chitresh Das presents East as Center ODC Theater, 3153 17th St., San Francisco May 28 - June 7, 2003
A premiere performance--three major forces in Asian Dance: South Indian Kathakali dance Govindan Kutty, North Indian Kathak dancer and ODC Artist-in-Residence Chitresh Das and Balinese dancer Nyoman Cerita, unite to create a new collaborative work that explores the driving rhythms, intricate gestures and dramatic expression shared by these three dance forms.

Treasures of Modern Art: The Legacy of Phyllis Wattis at SFMOMA San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Through June 24, 2003.
In celebration of the exceptional contribution Phyllis Wattis made to SFMOMA, Treasures of Modern Art highlights works of art acquired by the Museum through its devoted trustee and patron, who passed away in June 2002 at the age of 97. Focusing on art that entered the collection between 1995 and 2002, the exhibition includes works by such artists as Marcel Duchamp, Alberto Giacometti, Ren Magritte, and Robert Rauschenberg, illustrating an extraordinary range of modern art and offering an unprecedented look at the Wattis legacy.
