Aransas/Redfish Bays and northward - Redfish are at the Klondikes and at the south corner of California Hole near Morris and Cummings Cut. Most were caught on dead shrimp and cut mullet. Keeper trout are on the flats between City by the Sea and Palm Harbor. Most are being caught on soft plastics.

Owls failed to greet us on field trip
Birding is often a surprise. Things were not exactly as planned on a field trip to the Russell Ranch between Mathis and Old San Patricio last week. On our first trip to the Russell's several years ago we went to see short-eared owls, birds that are seldom seen here. See them we did, so that was a surprise.
