Cook was named all-Colonial Athletic Association all four of her seasons and
was an all-American in 1993, '95 and '97. In 1995 and '97 she was a finalist for college
soccer's two player-of-the-year awards, the Herman Trophy and Missouri Athletic Club

Raleigh Wings and future CyberRays teammate Thori Bryan. She was named the most
valuable player in the 2000 championship tournament.
Personal:
Rosalie Ann Cook (``Cookie''). Graduated from William & Mary in 1997 with a
Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. Father Jim is a
retired physician, mother Rosalie is a homemaker. Why she's an athlete: "I love to compete and I love the intangible things that sport
teaches you."
Earliest soccer memory: "Mob ball" at the YMCA.
Favorite soccer player: George Best "because of the things he could do with the ball."
Significance of 1999 Women's World Cup: "It was a huge step forward for women's
soccer and women's athletics as a whole."
Community activities: Habitat for Humanity.
Hobbies outside soccer: Anything outdoors – hiking, camping, cycling, kayaking.
If she could be any athlete for one day: She'd be Tiger Woods ``to have that kind of
mind control and be that smooth under intense pressure.''
Strangest possession: A Willie Nelson doll that she sleeps with.
