Why funding is needed

Established religions have vast financial resources built up from bequests and regular donations. With these they can sustain activities with existing believers - and spread their messages ever more widely, through missionaries, churches, publications, television, radio, and the Internet.

A religion like pantheism, which is young in organizational terms, is at an enormous disadvantage. Because our numerical base is small, spreading by personal contact is vitally necessary, but limited in scope. Growth is fast in percentage terms - but slow in terms of total numbers.

If it is to spread beyond a small minority, pantheism needs promotion, through advertising, the media and the Net. It needs promotion much more than established religions - and yet we have only a small funding base to do this.

We will also need to build up a network of committed full-time workers with resources to publicize and promote pantheism in every possible way.

To do this we will have to rely on donations, sponsorship and bequests.

Significant support could create the critical momentum to make a difference quickly.

If you can help with funding, or if you cannot yourself help, but know of someone or some organization who could, please contact Paul Harrison, e-mail: harrison@dircon.co.uk.
