Washington Freedom

When the Washington Freedom take the field this season, there will be several key players to watch on Coach Jim Gabarra's roster.

Attacking-wise, there's nobody like Mia Hamm. The all-time international scoring record holder will obviously be a force to contend with. When teams double team Hamm to try and shut her down, instead they'll have the Brazilians to contend with.

Roseli and Pretinha of the Brazilian national team offer a different kind of attacking style that is quick and tremendously skillful on the ball. The Brazilian's style is in stark contract to another key international player on the Freedom roster -- Anne Makinen, a Finland National Team member who is a strong playmaker.

Defensively for Washington, Lindsay Stoecker is likely going to be the Freedom's defensive leader. In the midfield, Amanda Cromwell and Nortre Dame's Jennifer Grubb are holding defensive midfielders who will try and shut down the other team. In the goal, the Freedom has Siri Mullinix, one of the world's best goalkeepers.
