About Us

The Code Project was formed to provide developers with a place to meet and exchange ideas. We hope to provide developers with all the resources they need to help them in their day to day programming, as well as helping them keep up to date with the latest technologies.

We at the Code Project would like to thank all those who have contributed their time, energy, and articles to make the site what it is.

The Code Project is:

Chris Maunder
Site Admin, content, scripts and anything else that needs doing.

Chris is based in Australia and has over 11 years experience as a developer. He has worked for companies such as Dundas Software, HyperCube and was Site Administrator for CodeGuru for nearly 18 months. Chris' background is in in Pure and Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, and his programming experience includes C/C++, C#, MFC, CE, ADO, ASP, and far, far too much FORTRAN.

He has worked on AIX, Sun, and CRAY YMP C90 boxes but finds PCs take up less desk space.

To relax Chris is into snowboarding, rock climbing, mountain biking, and storm chasing.

Erik Thompson
Editing/COM+/XML

Erik lives in Redmond, Washington. He works as a Senior Software Engineer specializing in C++, COM, ATL and the middle-tier. When he isn't coding for work, he can be found trying to extend Internet Explorer with yet another Desk band or simplifying his development process with ATL Object Wizards.

He spends his free time mountain biking, reading, dining out at those hidden finds and occasionally playing AOE2.

Uwe Keim
Scripting

Uwe lives in the south of Germany near Stuttgart. Uwe has been programming for over 10 years and extensive experience in x86 Assembler, Pascal, C++, Java, VxDs, MFC, ActiveX, DirectX/Direct3D and databases. For the last 2 years he has been working extensively with scripting languages, mainly VBScript and HTML for web-based applications. He's looking forward to turn his back on all that ASP stuff and instead do more and more JSP and Java-Servlets which is way cooler.

After studying microelectronics, Uwe now works in the company he has founded 1995 with a friend, developing database-based e-commerce solutions for enterprise customers.

In his free time, he does a lot of running/jogging, plays with his two rabbits or does thousand of other things with his girlfriend Gita.

The Servers

IP: 207.219.70.31

CodeProjectg is currently hosted on one dual processor PIII 800mhz box with 1Gb of RAM, and 90GB of HD space (Mirrored). SQL Queries are fed from a Dual 450mhz box with 512 MB of Ram, and 50GB of HD. Both machines have Dual 100mb/s networks cards.

The site runs off Windows 2000 Advanced Server, SQLServer 7 and the .NET CLR (beta 1)

The site is being migrated as we speak to a 2 machine cluster for web serving, and a two machine cluster for SQL serving. All 4 initial machines will be of the dual-PIII 800mhz, 1GB Ram, 90GB UDMA HD, variety.
