pair Networks
established the Pittsburgh Internet Exchange, known as "PitX",
in May 2000.
PitX is an open exchange point where networks in the Pittsburgh
area can directly exchange Internet traffic.
Participating networks benefit from direct interconnection, avoiding
expensive and slow routes through other cities.
PitX improves performance and reliability for Internet connectivity in our
region. Participation is open to any organization which already
has Internet connectivity.
