Q1: I've noticed that downloads often include an estimated total download time. How is this time estimated? A: The download time is an estimate, based on an average user downloading the product using a 28.8 modem. Obviously, using a slower or faster modem increases or decreases download time. So does connectivity: whether you are near a download center or far away. Q2: I noted that when I select a certain download, you deliver me to the Windows Update site or the Office Update site. Why? A: Think of the Download Center as a portal to the many Microsoft sites that offer you free downloads. We make it easy for you to find a download, then send you to the site where more download information is stored. Office Update offers downloads for the Office family of products; Windows Update for the Windows family. Q3: I know the name of the product I want to download. What's the easiest way to find it? A: In the gray bar, click Keyword Search. Then, directly below, type in your product's name. Select your computer's Operating System. Now click Find It, and the list matching your keywords will be displayed. Q4: I don't remember the name of the product, but I will when I see it. How can I see a list of products? A: In the gray bar, click Product. Then, directly below, click the arrow on the Product drop-down box. You'll see a list of all the products in the Download Center. Q5: I just want to browse among your Games and find something interesting to download. How do I do this? A: In the gray bar, click Category. Then, directly below, click the arrow on Category drop-down box. You'll see a list of all product categories, including games. Q6: I'm confused. You don't tell me which of these products are free, and which I'll have to buy. How can I tell the difference? A: All the products in the download center are free. Q7: I'm looking for a download in a language other than English. How can I find it?
