2) Unlike previously asserted, the 3C574-TX (Fast EtherLink 16-bit PC

correct drivers (P&P), no need to install additional drivers by
3Com. Tested with IBM Thinkpad 760 and IBM VIAO 505.

3Com 3C19250 USB Network Interface (3Com) YesW2000 04/00
First you need to install the device using Win9x
drivers and be told that the .inf is in the wrong format. That's okay - just
click ok.
Unpack u2e304.zip into a temp folder and go to
device manager and update the driver for the 3C19250 using the "have
disk" method, and navigate to the folder where you unpacked the KLSI driver,
select it, ignore the warning about it not being the right driver for the device,
and click OK.
You now are a proud owner of a Klsi USB-Ethernet
Device Adapter!
Download drivers - http://www.klsi.com/drivers/u2e304.zip
Step by step instructions http://www.usbman.com/3Com%20Ethernet%20Adapter.htm
3Com 3C572 (3Com) YesW2000 09/00
3COM does not provide any driver and just says that the 3C572 is not supported on Windows 2000. But just plug it into your laptop and install it as a 3C574 - works fine.
3Com 3CR990 10/100 3XP NIC (3Com) YesW2000 06/00
Works fine. Ordered the eval kit, good way to save ~$50 on it plus get some extra hardcopy manuals and etc. (OEM ver is all CD based)
Around $70 total for eval kit, on pricewatch its still $120 range.
Problem is that it took 3 months, though I think they weren't done making them before. (all had to be made in US, export restricted) Turnaround should be two weeks now.
Under W2k you can choose to offload things (part of TCP/IP functions, all of IPSec) from your CPU to the NIC CPU, and the list is pretty long, advanced properties in device manager. In 9x and NT4 you don't have that option.
3Com Cable Modem VSP+ (3Com) NoW2000 11/99
No driver
available.
3Com CableModem VSP+ (3Com) YesNT 4.0 03/00
Well there are drivers available for the modem/winmodem
that are labeled "NT Drivers"...I will install Win2K Pro soon and see
if they are also Win2K compatible; e-mail to clientcable@3com.com has gone
unanswered since release of these drivers, though they responded to me before
inquiring about Win2K drivers in general. http://consumer.3com.com/cable/inf/index.html

capture card under Windows 2000.(Installing the Hauppage Driver instead
(Same BT848 chip used)) 3Com still has drivers for Windows 9x(VFW
drivers) and NT 4
3Com OfficeConnect NIC Card (3Com) NoW2000 01/00
Right off
3Coms site:
Windows 2000 Note: The
OfficeConnect Fast Ethernet NIC was designed for the small
business customer -- and typically today, they are running
Windows 95, 98 and NT. We are evaluating Win 2K requirements for
this group, and are considering providing this support in a
later version of the product.

No Drivers available - I only

3D Blaster PCI V1000 (Creative Labs) YesW2000 06/00
I know this didn't work before, but I just Successfully installed the NT4 3D Blaster PCI drivers in Windows 2000. I first removed the old drivers (V3-3K, don't ask) then I "added new hardware" and selected "Have Disk". After the reboot, everything worked. Just using 2D tho and I'm not sure if 3D is accelerated.
3D Blaster Riva TNT2 Ultra (Creative Labs) YesW2000 03/00

3D Prophet DDR-DVI (Guillemot) YesW2000 03/00
Nvidia reference drivers work better than

interface. The hercules drivers crash while trying to render the
"Wanda" nvidia demo, the Nvidia reference drivers work OK, I
have tried the  3.81 drivers from nvidia and Quake3 1.16n SMP works
without crashing. I have a Iwill DBD100 motherboard with dual P3 500
3D Prophet II GTS 32MB (Guillemot) YesW2000 06/00

3D Prophet II GTS 64MB (Guillemot/Hercules) YesW2000 06/00
Works fine even with a fresh install with drivers from CD and with latest reference drivers from nvidia.com. I have only one warning for those that use utilities: Do _NOT_ use MemTurbo 1.0a as it will cause hang-ups on 3D application startup.
3D Prophet II MX (Guillemot/Hercules) YesW2000 09/00

4-d scroll Mouse (Micro Innovations) YesW2000 04/00
It has two scroll wheels, one for vertical, one
for horizontal. Under win2k, they both scroll in the vertical direction,
instead of their correct directions. The supplied NT4 software will not work
under win2k and I have not heard of any plans to release updated software.

time with no problems.
56K Voice Faxmodem External 5605 (3Com U.S. Robotics) YesW2000 04/00
Yes... but. There is no distinctive ring support, at
least as far as I've been able to determine. This is either up to hardware
vendor or the voicemail software vendor to update and resolve.
