Don't use the 3.5 version driver from UMAX web site. It doesn't work. Instead, use the driver that comes with Win2K. It's older, but it does the trick. If you test the scanner under 3.5 version, it will be fine. However, when you try to acquire an image from any Photo Editing software, it will fail as soon as you start the scan process. A message box will come up about the scanner has stopped responding.

Windows won't find the correct driver, so you'll have to specify a location( selecting "Display a list...",Press the "Have disk" button,"Browse" The inf file is named agfascan.inf and is located in :\winnt\inf\ (where X: is your Win2K boot drive.)Then just select your Scanner from the list and click OK. Wacom Windows 2000 drivers Thanks to Yakumo for sending me the follow: Wacom has released a new win2000 compatible driver for their graphics tablets - 4.50 release candidate.
You should have either removed your old Wacom driver before upgrading to win2000. Then install by simply running pc450_en.exe, then WSetup.exe that it unzips. or, if you've been previously using your tablet under win2000:
1. uninstall your old Wacom driver from win2000 via add/remove programs. 2. run pc450_en.exe to extract WSetup.exe then manually unzip that to atemporary directory with winzip. 3. run device manager and select 'view / show hidden devices' and uninstall anything that looks Wacom related (or 'Pen' or 'tablet' there's one of each). 4. Reboot, as long as your pad is attached and powered up it should now auto detect it, I found it wouldn't if you had only used the Wacom uninstaller . 5. Point it to the temporary dir containing the driver you unzipped earlierand away you go. Your pad should now show up properly in device manager with 'show hiddendevices' on, as opposed to not being shown in device manager at all, or being shown as not functional. It's a pity it doesn't sensibly show up in the 'human interfacedevices' section though.

New Voodoo Rush drivers Anthony send me a update of his Voodoo Rush drivers (2D Only).
Also he send me a news update on 3Dfx Interactive and Windows 2000: The drivers are planned for release in a few weeks, prior to the release of Windows 2000.
Also it look like with in a few weeks we will see official Windows 2000 Voodoo 2 and Voodoo 3 drivers. No word on the other 3Dfx chipset like Voodoo 1 or Voodoo Banshee. I wouldn´t count on Voodoo Rush being supported.

Y2K Bug Bites Credit Card Balances A software problem connected with the Year 2000 changeover has emerged with credit card and debit card verifications that show some purchases to be recorded twice.
Nero instally a utility called multi-mounter. This allows you to change sessions on a CD. This part does not work under 2000, only NT4. System will not hibernate or suspend with this driver installed. Simply delete nerocdnt.sys from your system32/drivers folder...and it's all good.
In Reference to the NeroCdNT.sys driver that cause WIN2K to not load up. If you can't get to the directory to delete this file, or don't wish to delete it, there is another way to get rid of the problem it is causing. You can boot from the CD choose Repair installation, then choose C to continue. At this point it gives you a command prompt under the c:\winnt directory. type "listsvc" this brings up a list of the severices that load under win2k, and you should see "NeroCdNT.sys" and "System_Boot" or something similar. all you have to do is then hit esc to end the list and type "disable NeroCdNT.sys" this will disable that driver from attempting to load (another words it will be in "manual" mode I believe). Then restart the computer and boot as normal and tada all works fine.

Also Folks with this modem may encounter windows errors such as "Could not agree on PPP control protocols" when connecting to their ISP. If this occurs check to make sure modem is set for COM1 and if that is correct, uninstall TCP/IP protocol, reboot, (don't mind the errors on following startup) reinstall TCP/IP and it should work again. I have yet to find the cause of this problem but it is pretty rare.

1. Mp3man NT version - stay away. It does not juggle parallel port. 2. RioExplorer ..it uses the same device sys as Mp3man..but it does juggle pararell port access very well. There is no need to go to device and stop pararell or stop RIO's driver. One problem is that it has difficulty in locating setup.lid file [Languages] key0=0009 Default=0009 count=1 >from its temp setup folder. If you have windows commander or something, during installation, just keep on copying this file to the temp folder. you might fail several times..due to timing ....but once it recognizes it, RIOExplorer works. ( It works fine with W98 and NT4 without this setup problem. ) I tried it under Windows 2000 Professional and Server.

There are 2 Linksys 10/100tx cards out there. The earlier version is auto-detected by Win2000 and works great the version 2 does not work with the Win2000 drivers on the disk, but if you download the new driver disk it works great.

Voodoo 2 ICD drivers update Anthony send me another update of his Voodoo 2 ICD drivers and some info:
"1: It has nothing to do with the new licensing agreement recently signed, between 3dfx and Microsoft. I had email exchange with 3dfx "no not tech support".
2: They assured me that they will release a Voodoo2 driver for Windows2000 once Windows2000 is in stores.so I know that will be 2/17/00. 3dfx stated that the drivers will be released right around that time. So basically we all messed up by installing Windows2000 before it is in stores.
3: The word was Full support D3D, Glide, ICD OpenGL".

"I just had an email exchange with 3dfx. They stated that voodoo2 drivers would be available (contrary to opinion on the net that v2 will not be supported by Windows 2000) when Windows 2000 is available in stores. This is all pursuant to a licensing agreement recently signed, between 3dfx and Microsoft."
With NT4 and a Voodoo3 card, the game would not function properly. Apparently a glitch in the display driver made the mouse jump all over the screen. I switched to another video card and the problem went away.

GK3 works beautifully under windows2000. After install you may get an error that says gk3.exe is not a valid win32 application. To fix this just copy gk3.exe from the cd to the harddrive. it fixes the problem. Anthor problem is that sometimes the game slows down under win2k but otherwise works fine.

Install it under Win9x, and then make sure that you install the 1.25c update. Then use regedit to export the two following keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\MicroProse and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MicroProse.Boot into W2K and import the reg keys and then you should be able to play the game with no problems. You may need to use SETWIN95 on the executables (i.e. MAGIC.EXE, DECK.EXE, and DUEL.EXE).

PowerStrip 2.6 and PCIList 1.5 released PowerStrip 2.6 (639kb) has been released as a unified build, with transparent support for the original retail release of Windows 95 to the latest RTM build of Windows 2000. Support has been added for the GeForce DDR and Savage 2000, as well as - belatedly - for Number Nine's proprietary T2R4. Fixes relate to, amongst other things, Rendition CRTC calculations, ATI Rage hardware configuration under Win2000, the TNT2 M64 clocks, and Intel overlay color correction. Also new in this release is a comprehensive diagnostic module and command-line support for configuring AGP transfers, along with automatic, temporary disabling of "secondary monitors" when you switch to DirectX or OpenGL settings (including the second of the G400's DH). Microsoft fixes two Y2K glitches Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq:MSFT) had to scramble to fix a Y2K problem late Friday night, the company told the Associated Press.
