GEOCITIES SET TO RAISE $25 MILLION;

ENTERS INTO PARTNERSHIP WITH YAHOO! TO STRENGTHEN GEOCITIES' LEADERSHIP IN COMMUNITY-BUILDING ON THE WEB

Santa Monica, CA, Jan. 5, 1998 -- GeoCities (www.geocities.com), announced today that it is set to raise $25 million and has also entered into a strategic business partnership with Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ: YHOO) to continue its leadership in community building on the Web. The company announced that $25 million will be invested directly in GeoCities by Softbank Holdings Inc., and that Yahoo! will purchase $5 million in equity of GeoCities to be paid for with newly-issued Yahoo! common stock. The strategic alliance between two of the Internet's market leaders will greatly increase the amount of traffic and homesteaders on GeoCities and offer GeoCities users an array of free personalized member services on Yahoo! AMAZON.COM AND GEOCITIES STRIKE EXCLUSIVE BOOKSELLER AGREEMENT

SEATTLE, WA - (December 3, 1997) - Amazon.com, Earth's Biggest Bookstore (Nasdaq: AMZN) and GeoCities, the world's largest and fastest growing community on the Internet, today announced an agreement naming Amazon.com (www.amazon.com) the exclusive bookseller on GeoCities (www.geocities.com). Santa Monica, CA, January 21, 1997 _ GeoCities (www.geocities.com), a pioneer in the development of Internet-based communities, today closed on a $9.0 million venture capital financing from SOFTBANK Holdings Inc., Chase Capital Partners, InnoCal, CMG @Ventures and Flatiron Partners.

The partners invested in GeoCities to support the continued development of the company's successful model for online communities. The company has developed a broad set of tools and personal publishing facilities in support of its unique 'homesteading' program, whereby Net surfers are encouraged to express their interests and passions by setting up and maintaining a free home page in one of 29 themed communities.
